Laboratory’s Summer Physics Camp applications due April 1

The Laboratory’s 10th Annual Summer Physics Camp invites young students to dive into the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through hands-on experiences and real-world exploration. Held at the New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe June 8-19, participants will learn alongside leading STEM professionals — including scientists and engineers from Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Participants will explore physics, engineering, bioengineering, chemistry, computer programming and cybersecurity through hands-on projects. Students will also build essential professional skills, including how to write a résumé and how to apply and interview for a job. The application deadline for the free camp is  April 1 and more information is available here.

RDC awards micro-grants to 40 Santa Fe businesses

Longtime Laboratory partner the nonprofit Regional Development Corporation has partnered with the City of Santa Fe Office of Economic Development and the Arrowhead Center at NMSU to launch a series of micro-grants for businesses within the City of Santa Fe. Forty businesses have been funded in tiers of $3,000 and $5,000, based on annual revenue. Awardees include Santa Fe International Film Festival, Mille and Vigilante Guides. Applications open for Career Pathways Scholarships

Applications are currently being accepted by the LANL Foundation for their Career Pathways Scholarships, which are aimed at those in Northern New Mexico who want to earn an associate degree, certification or professional trade credential. Supported by Laboratory employees and Laboratory operator Triad, the scholarships are available to high school students and adult learners with a high school diploma or GED/High School Equivalency, and are $750 awards per semester up to $3,000 total. The deadline for applications is April 3. More information is here.
