Sept. 15: Regional Business Opportunities Summit
Head to Northern New Mexico College for a free summit from the Regional Development Corporation exploring opportunities and resources for regional businesses. The event includes a keynote from author Mark Perna, a session on doing business with LANL, and a discussion with the new food and beverage contractor at the Laboratory, local small business Wolf & Mermaid. Registration required.

Sept. 17: Deadline for NM STEM Innovation Network grant applications
Education-related organizations in New Mexico are invited to apply for grants of between $5000 and $10,000 to fund STEM programs, with a deadline of Sept. 17.

Sept. 18-26: Science Fest
Nine days of science fun and education in Los Alamos, including Discovery Day on Sept. 26, which features Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Challenge Tomorrow STEM education trailers, and a STEMarts Lab LiveCoding performance​. 

This year’s Science Fest also features the three following new regional partner events:

Sept. 20: Los Luceros Annual Fall Festival
The Los Luceros Historic Site in Alcalde hosts a range of musical performances, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, including the Laboratory’s Challenge Tomorrow trailers.

Sept. 20: Ambassador animal tour
The New Mexico Wildlife Center in Española opens its doors to offer tours of native New Mexican mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Registration required.

Sept. 25: Valles Caldera Scientific Discovery
Join New Mexico geologists, ecologists, and biologists at Valles Caldera National Preserve to learn how the Caldera has inspired scientific discoveries. Part of the Valles Caldera Fall Fiesta.
