Victory over Japan, or VJ Day, commemorates Japan’s acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration on August 14-15, 1945, and also the formal surrender ceremony on September 2, 1945.
At the Bradbury Science Museum, we serve as a window into the history and current research of the Lab. We also serve as a space for reflection. Please join us at the Museum on VJ Day to contemplate what a protracted Second World War might have meant, how the Manhattan Project ended that war preemptively, and the legacy of the Manhattan Project’s success.
