Earth Day 2017

Emma Cohen will reprise her TEDxLANL talk "How to save a mermaid."
The talk, “How to save a mermaid,” focuses on the impact of microtrash (think plastic straws) and how we miss opportunities to recycle. It should inspire you to look in a whole new way at what you throw out.
Emma first presented this highly popular talk two years ago for TEDxLANL. It has gotten more than 2,500 views on our LANL YouTube channel. The April 19 presentation will give you a special opportunity to hear the talk live and interact with the speaker.
Such a deal! Seating is first come, first served.
Plus, if you get a chance on Earth Day (Saturday, April 22), stop by the Pajarito Environmental Education Center at 2600 Canyon Road in Los Alamos. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the center will be holding an Earth Day festival with lots of activities, including demonstrations by two of the Museum’s Scientist Ambassadors: Amanda Barry and Sandy Frost.
