Shaping the Future through People and Science
Over 50% of all alumni are still involved in quantum dot-related research.
For more than three decades, the Los Alamos quantum dot program has served as a premier training ground for the next generation of scientists and engineers. During this time, the team has mentored more than 100 postdoctoral researchers and students, including over 20 LANL Director's, Reines, and Oppenheimer Fellows.
Our alumni have gone on to build distinguished careers in academia, national laboratories, government, and industry across the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. More than 40 former team members are now faculty at leading universities worldwide, while over 20 have joined the U.S. Department of Energy national laboratories as staff scientists, technical leaders, and R&D managers, where they contribute to a broad range of national security and energy missions.
Many alumni have also become leaders in the private sector, including founders of innovative companies such as UbiQD and Glass to Power, translating advances in quantum dot science into real-world technologies.
