He brings extensive experience from national laboratory and defense-sector business leadership roles.
Background
Aeilts joined Los Alamos after serving as mission services associate laboratory director at Sandia National Laboratories, where he oversaw finance, business excellence, information technology, purchasing, and administrative services. He previously held senior business management roles supporting defense enterprises, including Alliant Techsystems and the Kansas City National Security Campus. At Los Alamos, he modernizes business systems and practices that underpin scientific, production, and infrastructure programs, emphasizing transparency, compliance, and customer-centric service. He partners across Operations associate Laboratory directorates to align resourcing with the Lab Agenda and supports scalable processes for rapid mission growth.
