Scott Aeilts

Scott Aeilts leads Business Management (ALDBUS), responsible for financial systems, work authorization, procurement, IT for business operations, and enterprise process improvement that enable mission delivery. He brings extensive experience from national laboratory and defense-sector business leadership roles.
Background
Aeilts joined LANL after serving as mission services associate labs director at Sandia National Laboratories, where he oversaw finance, business excellence, information technology, purchasing, and administrative services. He previously held senior business management roles supporting defense enterprises, including Alliant Techsystems and the Kansas City National Security Campus. At LANL, he modernizes business systems and practices that underpin scientific, production, and infrastructure programs, emphasizing transparency, compliance, and customer-centric service. He partners across Operations ALDs to align resourcing with the Lab Agenda and supports scalable processes for rapid mission growth.
