
Mark Davis

Introduction
Mark Davis is the Deputy Laboratory Director for Operations (DDOPS) at Los Alamos, responsible for operational excellence, infrastructure modernization, and mission support services that enable safe, reliable execution of the Laboratory’s national security mission. He leads efforts to enhance efficiency, safety culture, and infrastructure readiness across the Laboratory’s diverse operations portfolio.
Background
Davis brings decades of experience in nuclear operations and executive leadership, including service in the U.S. Navy and key roles at the Department of Energy and its facilities. He has guided large technical teams in high-hazard environments, emphasizing safety, security, and mission execution. At Los Alamos, he ensures site operations integrate infrastructure, environmental safety, security, and logistics to efficiently and effectively support the institution’s scientific and production missions. Davis is recognized for his focus on organizational trust and employee well-being, recently leading initiatives that advance modernization and operational resilience while supporting workforce growth across Northern New Mexico.
