Inorganic, Isotope, and Actinide Chemistry

Actinide separation, production, and energy storage

Addressing national needs in nuclear energy and medical imaging

The Inorganic, Isotope, and Actinide Chemistry (C-IIAC) Group supports the Laboratory’s mission in key areas, including supporting new materials and separation processes with actinide chemistry, developing production methods and applications for accelerator-produced radionuclides, and using chemical systems for energy storage and production methods.

Researchers in C-IIAC conducted basic and applied research in nuclear chemistry and physics, accelerator target physics, inorganic chemistry, catalysis and chemical transformations, and environmental chemistry.
