Andrew Roberts

Meet Andrew Roberts

Andrew

Andrew Roberts is a scientist in the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) focused on simulating polar climate in Earth system models.  He is an investigator in the Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM) and Interdisciplinary Research for Arctic Coastal Environments (InteRFACE) projects. His research interests include fusing models and observations of components comprising the Arctic and Antarctic, including sea ice, oceans, land hydrology, and the atmosphere, and coupling of these components in Earth system codes such as E3SM.

  • Fully coupled polar and global earth system modeling
  • Coupled ocean - sea ice - atmosphere boundary layer dynamics
  • Sea ice mechanics
  • Synthesis of satellite measurements with earth system models
