Wildfire Simulation and Data Visualization Camp

Are you interested in how scientists study wildfires? Would you like to learn coding skills based on real-world datasets?

Application opens January 20, 2025

As a camp participant you will receive hands-on training in the specific scientific problem area of wildfire simulation and data visualization. You will learn to create graphical and animated representations of wildfires in the software application ParaView. The information produced by these representations leads to actionable insights that can aid in wildfire suppression to protect the public, ecosystems, watersheds, and air quality.

Additionally, you will learn about Los Alamos National Laboratory and the DOE National Laboratories, and you’ll receive professional development opportunities including workshops on applying to the Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists (WDTS) internships programs.

This camp is funded by a grant by the Department of Energy's Office of Science Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists.
