Plutonium Science Tutorial to be Offered at 2003 Conference

The Introductory Tutorial on fundamental aspects and current topics in plutonium science that was offered at the 2000 Conference was well attended. For 2003, the Glenn T. Seaborg Institute for Transactinium Science at Los Alamos National Laboratory is again planning a similar tutorial session for Sunday afternoon, July 6. The purpose of the tutorial is to provide introductory and background material that will allow newcomers to the field of plutonium science to participate more fully in the technical sessions of the Conference. The tutorial is especially intended for Students, Postdocs, and Researchers who are new to the field of plutonium science, but any registered conference attendee is welcome to attend.

The Agenda for the Tutorial is available - click here.

Student and Postdoc Participation Invited

As in past conferences, student participation in Plutonium Futures - The Science 2003 is welcomed and strongly encouraged. Of particular interest to students and postdocs will be the Plutonium Science Tutorial (see above). A Student Career Fair is being organized, and resumes will be accepted. A list of participating employers will be provided when it is available. The conference registration fee will be waived for all students and postdoctoral fellows. In addition, financial assistance for travel expenses is available for students and postdoctoral fellows who present papers and meet eligibility requirements. More information on eligibility will be posted as soon as it is available on this web site.
