Learn about the SST Training Program

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has over 50 years of experience in developing and implementing nondestructive assay technologies in support of nuclear nonproliferation.

LANL has over 40 years of experience in conducting NDA training utilizing a range of nuclear materials, NDA equipment, and field-experienced instructors. LANL has existing modular training materials developed through years of experience, which can be easily customized to meet the customer’s needs.

LANL has a training and research facility at Technical Area 66 (TA-66) with easy access to CAT III level amount of nuclear materials, including both uranium and plutonium. These materials are used for teaching nuclear material measurement techniques and for research and development of new safeguards and security technologies. 

Easy access to the facility for foreign nationals allows collaboration with international partners.
