
Prior to that, he was computational performance group lead for E3SM and a developer of the previous Parallel Ocean Program (POP) and MPAS-Ocean models. He has served in leadership roles as the project lead for the Climate, Ocean and Sea-ice Modeling (COSIM) effort at LANL and as deputy group leader for the Fluid Dynamics and Solid Mechanics group in the Theoretical Division (T-3).
He holds a Ph.D. in Astrophysical, Planetary and Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Colorado and a BS in Physics and Math from Iowa State University.
