Meet Golo Wimmer
While at LANL, he has mainly been working on extending the methods developed during his thesis to magnetohydrodynamic models, with applications to the magnetosphere and magnetic confinement fusion.

- Structure preserving finite element methods with focus on (magneto-)hydrodynamic flows in Eulerian framework for structure such as geostrophic balance, consistent energy transfers, helicity conservation including efficient solvers and transport-stabilized discretizations
- Advanced numerical methods for plasma phenomena such as anisotropic diffusion
