Plutonium Workforce Development Initiative

The overall goal of the PWDI is to enhance the development of next-generation pit manufacturing technical workforce for the Lab through active-learning based education and collaborative state-of-the-art research in nuclear science and technology that supports pit manufacturing missions, and that engage and broaden the participation of underrepresented minority men and women in the state of New Mexico.

This program is being administered by the New Mexico Consortium with Lab technical leadership provided from the National Security Education Center (NSEC), WFPO, Community Partnerships Office and technical leaders within the pit manufacturing program at Los Alamos.
