History
The Atomic Age begins; learn the story from fission’s discovery through the formation of and the work of Project Y’s scientists and engineers in Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project. Explore historic properties that are part of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park at Los Alamos.
Defense
The main mission of the Laboratory is to ensure the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear deterrent. Dynamic screens and many interactives encourage active exploring.
Research
As enabled by the facilities and capabilities from its central mission, the Laboratory conducts leading-edge research in many areas of science and technology to help solve national problems related to energy, the environment, infrastructure, and health.
