Introduction
Mark Anthony is the Associate Laboratory Director for Plutonium Infrastructure (ALDPI) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), where he leads the modernization of plutonium facilities and infrastructure to support the 30-pits-per-year mission. He brings over 34 years of leadership in nuclear energy, defense, and scientific research.
Background
Anthony has built a distinguished career leading complex technical organizations and capital infrastructure programs across the nuclear and energy sectors. At LANL, he directs the ALDPI directorate, aligning scope, cost, and schedule to deliver mission-critical infrastructure for pit production and plutonium operations. Prior to LANL, he served as Project Director and Deputy Director General at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Sweden, overseeing a €3.2B scientific construction project. He also held executive roles at GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, including CEO of Nuclear Fuel & Services Europe, where he drove strategic growth and operational excellence across the region. His leadership is grounded in disciplined project execution, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to safety and quality—principles shaped by his early service in the U.S. Marine Corps and decades in the nuclear industry.
