Call ahead during snow storms: (505) 667-6622 or (877) 723-4101.
We follow Los Alamos National Laboratory’s closure schedule and we may be closed, open late, or close early depending on road conditions and the severity of the storm.
Please note that the Laboratory will be closed December 25 through January 4, but the Museum will remain open except for Christmas and New Year's. During these dates, call the Museum directly (505-667-5274) during regular hours for weather closure information.
Bring your camera—we allow photos and videos inside the Museum for personal use.
If you’re with the media, please contact the Laboratory’s Communications Office at (505) 667-7000 for prior approval and to make arrangements.
Our facility is wheelchair accessible and we have two wheelchairs available for visitor use on site. Most of our video presentations are captioned. For our feature film, The Town That Never Was, we also provide a listening-assistance system and translations of the script in French and Spanish.
Sorry, a local shop has closed:
The Otowi Bookstore and Museum Shop, which had been next door for almost 20 years and served as a museum shop, closed in October 2012. The Museum does not have a gift shop.
