The Research Library is discontinuing the OPPIE search tool as of December 31, 2012.

The decision to discontinue OPPIE was made in August 2011. A major driver was to refocus staff energies on three areas:

  1. Managing local collections (RASSTI, LA Authors, LDRD Connexion, and EPRR).
  2. Supporting bibliometric requests from laboratory scientists/managers.
  3. Exploring access to other kinds of scientific & technical information - datasets, images, and video.

Training (video, one-on-one) is available for these resources.

Many commercial products provide access to the data currently found in OPPIE:

Primo (http://primo.lanl.gov), a new product recently released by the Research Library offers a different model of searching multiple scholarly resources. The Research Library provides access to commercial products like Primo, Web of Knowledge and other resources listed at the Find Articles/Databases page.

Researchers who have alerts in OPPIE will be notified separately.

Please contact library@lanl.gov with training requests, comments or concerns.
