Stellar Pulsation: Challenges for Theory and Observation

Santa Fe, New Mexico

May 31 - June 5, 2009

Travelling to and from the Conference

The best way to get to the Santa Fe, New Mexico, area is to fly into the Albuquerque International Airport (ABQ). It is possible to fly directly to Santa Fe via Denver, but is generally much more expensive.

Santa Fe is approximately a one-hour drive from the Albuquerque airport. If driving, exit the airport taking I-25 north. To get to the plaza area (where the La Fonda hotel is located) exit I-25 at the St. Francis Street exit and follow the signs. Directions to the La Fonda Hotel are given here.

Note added Friday, May 29: If you are arriving at the airport in ABQ very late Sunday night after the last shuttle and are looking for a way to get to Santa Fe, or if you are planning to rent a car and could offer rides on Sunday, please E-mail Joyce Guzik (joy@lanl.gov) or call her at at 1-505-667-8927.

Rental Cars:

All major rental car agencies are represented at the Albuquerque International Sunport

Parking at La Fonda Hotel:
Parking at the La Fonda is $8/day for hotel guests and $10/day for other meeting attendees.

Shuttle Services:

Shuttle service from the Albuquerque airport is also available on a regular basis. Shuttles pick up and drop of at major Santa Fe hotels. The one-way fare is approximately $25 per person. We recommend the Sandia Shuttle from the ABQ airport. The phone numbers are 1-505-474-5696 in Santa Fe and 1-888-775-5696 (US toll free) (their webpage has the schedule and allows on-line reservations). Also available is the Roadrunner Shuttle Services (505) 424-3367. You should make your reservations with the shuttle services in advance!

Train:
The New Mexico Rail Runner Express  http://www.nmrailrunner.com/ has recently opened for transportation to/from downtown ABQ. Use the Airport Express bus - Route 350 - to get to and from downtown ABQ from the Albuquerque airport. Use the Downtown Albuquerque Station to get to and from Santa Fe. The fare is approximately $6 for a one way ticket to or from Santa Fe. NOTE: Currently there is NO TRAIN SERVICE on SUNDAY.
