LANL's hispanic employee resource group
LANL’s Hispanic Employee Resource Group, Hispanic Opportunities of Los Alamos (HOLA), are driven by a profound commitment to empower Hispanic and Latino individuals within the LANL community. Our mission is to foster a sense of belonging, promote diversity and inclusion, and support LANL's mission of solving national security challenges through scientific excellence by leveraging the talents and contributions of our diverse workforce.
We believe that by investing in leadership development and creating a supportive environment, we can help Hispanic and Latino employees reach their full potential and contribute to LANL's success. Through our initiatives, we aim to attract, retain, and empower Hispanic and Latino professionals, providing them with the resources, relationships, and skills they need to grow their careers and deliver exceptional results.
Our "Why" statement encapsulates our purpose and motivation:
"We are dedicated to empowering Hispanic and Latino individuals at LANL, cultivating a culture of inclusion that celebrates diversity and enables our community to thrive. By fostering leadership, belonging, and collaboration, we contribute to LANL's mission of scientific excellence and national security."
HOLA is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment that empowers our diverse workforce to thrive. Our initiatives focus on:
- Talent Development: We help cultivate the talents of our broadly diverse workforce, enabling individuals to reach new heights and uncover innovative solutions that benefit LANL.
- Professional Growth: We foster professional development by enhancing work performance, facilitating mentor-mentee relationships, and supporting career advancement efforts. We provide opportunities for employees to showcase their skills and connect with role models and mentors.
- Community Building: We create a sense of community and belonging by introducing new and current employees to LANL's organizational culture. Our initiatives encourage interaction and relationship-building within and across the laboratory.
- Strategic Leadership Tool: We serve as an effective strategic tool for leadership, advancing LANL's mission and diversity initiatives. Our efforts play a critical role in retention and professional development, ensuring that all employees feel valued and engaged.
- Partnerships and Recruitment: We assist in recruiting a diverse workforce and increasing community partnerships, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are celebrated and integrated into our work.
Through these efforts, HOLA is dedicated to enhancing the overall experience of Hispanic and Latino employees at LANL, contributing to a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
