Utilization of scanning probe and optical spectroscopy/microscopy techniques to extract information about the intrinsic electro-optical properties of nanoscale materials. Research includes the development and implementation of novel, nano-optical scanning probe microscopy techniques to extract optical material property information at resolutions well below the diffraction limit and the development of broadband ultrafast microscopy techniques to measure the dynamics of energy transfer processes in complex, solid-state nanostructures.
