Expertise

I am a chemical engineer by training with experience in fields of combustion, especially on the formation of soot particles. Thus far, my experiences are mostly limited to modeling and simulations with a range of different CFD softwares encompassing DNS, LES, RANS, and ODT. Working in particle physics modeling has led to exposure in parameter calibration using Bayesian statistics, model verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification. Currently I am primarily working on wildfire emission prediction using LANL's FIRETEC and QUICFIRE softwares.

Before my graduate work, I studied details of the pulp and paper industry extensively as an undergraduate. This included work as a chemical vendor at three paper mills doing chemical analysis of recycled fiber cleaners, wet-end paper machine operations, and pulp mill operations. My experience in the paper industry gave me familiarity with complex chemical engineering operations, extensive wood chemistry, and polymer sciences.
