Mike Mayer

Mike is now a Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018.

As a post-baccalaureate, Mike worked on developing the diagnostic technique Molecular Tagging Velocimetry (MTV) in preparation for its implementation on the Horizontal Shock Tube.

In graduate school, Mike’s research will focus on radiative transport in particle-laden flows for solid particle receivers used in concentrated solar power plants.
