Dr. Kathy Prestridge



Kathy Prestridge is a senior scientist in Physics Division, and she has been at Los Alamos since 1998. She founded the Extreme Fluids Team in 2008. Her research interests are in turbulent mixing and shock-driven flows, and she has mentored many students and postdocs from the Extreme Fluids Team. She has received four DOE/NNSA Defense Program Awards of Excellence for her scientific work at Los Alamos.


Her Ph.D. is from the University of California, San Diego, and her B.S. is in aerospace engineering from Princeton University.


Kathy is currently the Project Leader for the Proton Radiography (pRad) capability at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE), and the Project Leader for the Science Campaign 1 Implosion Hydrodynamics portfolio of experiments.
