In collaboration with Universities, the Center for Space and Earth Science (CSES) focuses on scientific understanding of fundamental physical processes that are critical to maintenance of habitat earth homeostasis with a long-term objective of achieving sufficient knowledge to identify the tipping points that can push habitat earth out of its homeostatic equilibrium, homeostatic imbalance.

  • Student Fellow Program Submission Deadline: Friday, April 5

  • Call for Proposals (FY20 Starts)
  • At this time, CSES will NOT be soliciting new CK Fellow applications for the upcoming May and August PostDoc Committee Quarterlies. The next opportunity will be at the December 2019 Quarterly. The CSES Chick Keller PostDoc Fellowship program is nearing its capacity of ~8 CK postdocs, roughly two in each Focus Area. 
  • Acting CSES Focus Lead for Space Science: Vania Jordanova, the current CSES Space Science Focus Lead, is on sabbatical at Nagoya University in Japan. While Vania will continue to engage in CSES activities remotely, for local interactions Mike Henderson (ISR-1), mghenderson@lanl.gov, 665-7425) will be Acting CSES Space Science Focus Lead in Vania’s absence until May, 2019
