Los Alamos National Laboratory
IRIS
Group

Welcome!

The IRIS team is located in the ISR-1 group (Space Science and Applications) of the ISR (Intelligence and Space Research) division of Los Alamos National Laboratory's Global Security PAD (Principal Associate Directorate).

IRIS stands for Innovative Research and Integrated Sensing and we are a group of researchers working on space particle detection and analysis for scientific and government concerns. In situ particle monitoring of the dynamic processes of the Earth's magnetosphere and solar wind allows understanding of the system to the point of predictability, protection of satellites, and contributes to global security. Also, several team members utilize complementary sensing technologies for homeland security or ground based applications. Use the links on the left to learn more about our sensing and the science it enables and click here to find out more about us.
