GRANT WRITING TIP
Don't wait until you're faced with a grant application to think about the details of your project. As soon as you have a good idea, begin making notes on:
- Background: document the need for your project with data and observations
- Mission statement: identify the project's potential outcome
- Goals and objectives: make sure they are specific and measurable
- Timeline: what are realistic deadlines
- Required materials, supplies, assessment tools, and personnel
- Total cost
