GRANT WRITING TIP

Don't wait until you're faced with a grant application to think about the details of your project. As soon as you have a good idea, begin making notes on:

  • Background: document the need for your project with data and observations
  • Mission statement: identify the project's potential outcome
  • Goals and objectives: make sure they are specific and measurable
  • Timeline: what are realistic deadlines
  • Required materials, supplies, assessment tools, and personnel
  • Total cost
