Event Description

Short presentation followed by lively interaction on the topic at hand.

While isotopes are chemical elements (think periodic table), their varying numbers of neutrons mean they can be used in lots of different way. Join us for this month’s Science on Tap event when Eva Birnbaum, program manager for the Lab’s Isotope Production program, will talk about the ones produced here, how they are used for cardiac diagnosis and cancer treatment and the challenges of working with these radioactive substances.

Light refreshments will be provided for this event by the Central New Mexico section of the American Chemical Society.
