Science on tap

Event Description

Science On Tap happens every third Thursday of the month, featuring a new topic each week. It begins with an informal 15-minute talk and is followed by a lively group discussion.

Observing the stuff of stars (and other things)
Glen Wurden, with the Lab’s Plasma Physics group, will briefly outline the work he’s been doing in conjunction with the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator in Germany. Part of that work has been to design systems to peer into the roiling world of superhot plasmas to test a promising alternative approach to harness fusion energy.
Join us for a short presentation on this subject followed by a lively discussion.
