Apply for the Summer Physics Camp for Young Women

Applications are currently open for the Laboratory’s Summer Physics Camp for Young Women, which offers a great opportunity for high-school age young women (including transgender women or nonbinary) to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with STEM professionals.
The free camp will take place from June 5 - 16 at the New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe (and Hilo Intermediate School, Hilo for Hawaii residents), exploring topics related to energy and energy Security and offering students a chance to boost their understanding of how STEM improves the world around us through activities, speakers, tours, and a hands-on project.

Family Friendly New Mexico names Lab among 2023 platinum-level employers
For the fourth consecutive year, Los Alamos National Laboratory has earned distinction for its workplace policies from Family Friendly New Mexico (FFNM), a statewide initiative developed to recognize employers that have adopted policies that give New Mexico businesses an advantage in recruiting and retaining the best employees.
In 2023, the Lab received the platinum-level Family Friendly Business Award, which is given to businesses known as distinguished leaders and is the highest recognition for businesses that prioritize family-friendly policies.
The policies that are evaluated to determine a Family Friendly Business Award cover seven primary areas including paid leave, health support, work schedules, and diversity and inclusion.

Laboratory publishes report on 2022 community activities
Building on the success of its first two online community highlights publications, the Laboratory’s Community Partnerships Office (CPO) has released an updated report describing LANL's 2022 work in education, economic and workforce development, and community giving in Northern New Mexico.
Also covering Laboratory operator Triad’s support for the region, the publication includes information on the impact of the grants and sponsorships made under Triad’s Community Commitment Plan, and a list of the organizations that received financial support.
