Aug 15 -  Tribal Economic Diversity Fund application deadline
With support from Laboratory operator Triad, the RDC's Tribal Economic Diversity Fund awards businesses owned by a federally recognized Indian tribe or by an enrolled member(s) of a federally recognized Indian tribe funding for critical technical services and equipment. Awards are made on a competitive basis and applications close August 15.

August 15 - Periodic Table: Nanomaterials
Join Laboratory researcher John Watt at Bathtub Row Brewing in Los Alamos as he discusses how cryogenic imaging techniques from structural biology research are having a big impact in materials science. No question too small for this ask-me-anything chat!

August 17 - IndigenousWays Festival
Head to the Santa Fe Railyard Park Performance Green to celebrate indigenous arts, culture, music, and food. Part of a series that runs every 3rd Wednesday of the month (May – September) at different Santa Fe Parks,  featuring notable Native American performers, weavers, drummers, and wisdom keepers.

August 18 - Benefits beyond insurance
The Santa Fe Community Foundation hosts this online event discussing the creative and resourceful benefits nonprofits can offer to support a healthy, positive and inclusive work space.

August 18 - Feria Southside
Come celebrate the Santa Fe Southside at the free Feria Southside event August 18, with  food, music, games and activities, along with helpful resources for small businesses.

August 27 - Bear Festival
Enjoy a fun day at the PEEC Nature Center in Los Alamos, full of booths, games, and resources on living with black bears and other wildlife in Northern New Mexico. Come learn what we can do to keep both human and bear populations safe, and check out crafts, food, and a scavenger hunt.
