Santa Fe Community Foundation hosts a free workshop with Steven Eric Lucero discussing best practices around working with young people, and ways to establish a foundation of partnership, trust and empowerment.

Many of the region’s institutions of higher education are hosting online commencement ceremonies this year on May 15:

May 17 - Science on Tap
Laboratory geophysicist Charlotte Rowe will discuss the use of SMART cables to explore the Earth’s secrets beneath the sea at this relaxed online event from the Lab’s Bradbury Science Museum.

May 18 - Free pop-up co-working
ProjectY Cowork in Los Alamos is hosting free outdoor coworking from 2pm-5pm once a month throughout the summer. Bring your laptop and enjoy working alongside like-minded professionals.

May 20 - Beginning English Classes
Family Strengths Network in Los Alamos is offering free online beginners’ English classes for people with little or no English experience who are looking to improve their abilities. Registration required.

May 20-21 - Santa Fe Chamber Business Expo and Career Resource Fair
This virtual event connects businesses with job seekers and includes workshops and panels on careers in healthcare, technology and hospitality, and a special session on careers at the Laboratory.

May 26 - Frontiers in Science: cybersecurity and energy grids
Join Laboratory researcher Ray Newell at this virtual science conversation, as he discusses cybersecurity and new developments in protecting the energy system. Registration required.
