Laboratory publishes community highlights report

Transparency is a key tenet of the Laboratory’s approach to community activities, and this year the Community Partnerships Office (CPO) has released an online publication with information on LANL's 2020 work in education, economic and workforce development, and community giving.

“Many nonprofits and foundations release similar annual updates, and it’s important that we share information on the work the Laboratory does with our community partners, and on the investments of the Laboratory’s operator Triad,” says Kathy Keith, director of the CPO.

Since tackling the challenges caused by the pandemic was so important last year (and continues to be), the report includes a section on the response to COVID-19 from the Laboratory, its employees and Lab operator Triad.

Triad’s wider work in supporting the region is also covered, with information on the impact of the grants and sponsorships under its Community Commitment Plan, and a list of the organizations that received financial support.

The publication also includes a letter from Triad Board Chair (and former Laboratory Director) Mike Anastasio.

“The three members of Triad – Battelle Memorial Institute, the Texas A&M University System, and the University of California – are all public service-oriented organizations, and Triad is proud to play its part in helping Northern New Mexico in what was a very challenging year,” says Anastasio.
