The BSMA’s program looks at many notable Jewish leaders of the 1945 Theoretical Division

On Dec. 9, the Bradbury Science Museum Association will host Night with a Nerd, the final BSMA event of the year. Featured nerd Jack Shlachter will present his talk “Jews in theory: Jews at Los Alamos during the Manhattan Project.”

Jack Shlachter — an author, physicist and rabbi — will take a close look at the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos in 1945 and the Jewish roots of many of its notable leaders, who included J. Robert Oppenheimer and Hans Bethe.
