  • High-resolution laser spectroscopy of gas phase species, including laser absorption, laser-induced fluorescence, and several resonant photoionization methods.
  • Optical system work for beam alignment and diagnostics in support of the above.
  • Techniques for producing atomic/molecular beams of gas-phase species from refractory metals, namely, laser ablation source design, high temperature vacuum furnace source design.
  • Data acquisition and analysis software architecture, typically using the LabVIEW programming language.
  • High vacuum (10-8 torr) system construction, maintenance, and operation.
  • Bulk radiological solid material handling (U, Pu) in mg-g quantities, i.e., source loading for gas-phase actinide spectroscopy.
