September 9: Wolf Pack Trail Run
Get on your running shoes for this 3K fun run and 5K or 10K trail run to benefit the Santa Fe Waldorf School Athletics Department. The event starts at 8 a.m. and registration includes a T-shirt and post-race food and drink.

September 11, 18, 25: Ted Talk Tuesday
Every Tuesday at noon, bring your lunch to Project Y watch a TED talk, and discuss. See each week's topic here.

September 13: Night with a Nerd
Join Glen McDuff at Project Y in Los Alamos for his presentation "The Cold War, the Daily News, the Nuclear Stockpile and Bert the Turtle," a sometimes humorous look at the intricate relation between technology, politics and public opinion during the Cold War.

September 15: Opera on the Rocks
The New Mexico Performing Arts Society presents this year's Opera on the Rocks at Bandelier National Monument with a concert staging of scenes from popular operas. Held at the Bandelier amphitheater, the event features refreshments and youth activities. 

September 17, 19, 20: Frontiers in Science Lecture
Join researcher Bruce Carlsten from Los Alamos National Laboratory at this series of free public lectures as he talks about how particle accelerators are improving our lives at the speed of light. The talks take place in Albuquerque, Los Alamos and Santa Fe.

September 20: Senior Movie Day
The Española Public Library will be hosting a free viewing of The Miracle Season at 10:00 a.m.

September 21: Garden Sprouts Pre-K Activities
This Friday and every Friday (weather permitting) join educators and children at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden's outdoor classroom for free hands-on activities for 3-5 year olds and their caregivers.

September 28: San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen Benefit Dance
Stop by the Ohkay Casino for a benefit dance for San Martin de Porres. From 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.

September 28: Los Alamos High School Homecoming Parade
This annual event takes place at 2:30 p.m. The parade route will travel west on Central Avenue merging onto Canyon Road.

September 28: Rock Painting
Stop by the Española Public Library to create fun creatures with rocks and paint. Supplies will be provided and the event is open for all ages.

September 29: Jog, Walk, and Wag in Chama
Bring a furry friend along to this 3K walk or 5K or 10K run, which starts at 8:30 a.m. across from the clock tower by the Cumbres and Toltec train station in Chama. The event benefits the Chama Valley Humane Society and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chama. 

October 3: Small Business Resource Fair
Calling small businesses! Come network and learn about helpful resources at the Small Business Resource Fair at Buffalo Thunder on October 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosted by Los Alamos National Laboratory. To RSVP or ask questions, email business@lanl.gov.
