 Now – May 31, 2019: Atomic Histories: Remembering New Mexico’s Nuclear Past

This exhibit at the New Mexico History Museum explores both the most famous events and the little-known stories around the state’s 75-year involvement with nuclear science.

Now – August 25: Santa Fe Opera season

Santa Fe Opera’s 2018 season offers 36 performances of five different operas, including Doctor Atomic, which explores the events leading up to the Trinity test—the world’s first atomic bomb detonation—as part of the Manhattan Project.

July 8: Nuclear Weapons in New Mexico

Join journalist Sam Donaldson, theater director Peter Sellars and Dr. Ernest Moniz, CEO of Nuclear Threat Initiative and former Secretary of Energy at the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe as they discuss the complex history of nuclear weapons in New Mexico.

Los Alamos’s signature ScienceFest features live music and entertainment; movies; science, technology, engineering, and math activities and demonstrations; historical tours; hikes; and more.

July 12: DisrupTech 2018

This innovative event selects entrepreneurial-minded scientists from the Laboratory to present their ideas in the tech areas, introducing the latest groundbreaking technology to entrepreneurs, investors, regional leaders, policy makers, and industrial partners.

July 13-14: Tech and the West Symposium

Santa Fe Opera presents a two-day discussion involving composers, scientists, directors, historians, and lecturers about issues raised by the opera Doctor Atomic and the region’s nuclear history.

July 15 – August 20: Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival

The City Different plays host to the 46th Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival including world-class concerts and free events.

July 16: Sewing Camp for Adults and Teens 15+

This fun 5-session camp in Los Alamos teaches the basics of sewing, culminating in attendess working on their own hands-on project with the assistance of a mentor.

July 25: Española Public Library Senior Movie Night

Come relax and enjoy a free movie and popcorn at the Espanola Public Library for a showing of Woodlawn

July 28-29: Spanish Market Weekend

Visit Santa Fe during Spanish Market Weekend to explore the artwork from hundreds of local artists at both the Traditional Spanish Market and the Contemporary Hispanic Market.
