In celebration of the Lab’s 70th anniversary, the Los Alamos Employee Scholarship Fund awarded 73 students with monies to help them pursue college degrees. The recipients’ scholarships will come from more than $411,000 in donations from Lab employees and Los Alamos National Security, LLC. The students are from the seven counties in Northern New Mexico.

Administered by the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation, the scholarship fund began as a grassroots effort by Lab employees in 1998 to help ensure deserving students would receive the support they needed to obtain degrees that would serve the region. Awards are based on academic performance, leadership potential, critical thinking skills and career goals. Financial need, diversity and regional representation are integral components of the selections process.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners!
