Los Alamos Middle School wins regional MathCounts event

Los Alamos Middle School won the regional MathCounts competition.
On Feb. 9, a team from Los Alamos Middle School beat almost 60 middle school “mathletes” from Northern New Mexico at solving a series of timed math problems at the regional MathCounts competition. The team advances to the state competition to be held in late March.
The event is designed to encourage fun learning experiences for students in grades six through eight to help them hone their math skills.
The winner of the state competition goes on to the national competition in Washington, D.C. to be held in May.
Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Northern New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers and Los Alamos National Security, LLC sponsor the regional MathCounts competition.
