Jacqueline Mirabal-Martinez—Boosting electrical safety performance
First Woman to Chair the Lab’s Electrical Safety Committee.
Physics Division research technologist and electrical safety officer Jacqueline Mirabal-Martinez is dedicated to health.
The first woman to chair the Lab’s Electrical Safety Committee, she led her division to the highest level of excellence in electrical safety performance, exceeding the performance of 40 other divisions. This achievement is especially monumental given the electrically challenging experimental work of her division.
A Mother of Four and Breast Cancer Survivor
Mirabal-Martinez obtained two associate degrees from Northern New Mexico College, where she studied microelectronics technology before she had to abandon school so she could support her family.
A mother of four who works full time, Mirabal-Martinez recently returned to college and is working towards her electrical engineering degree from the University of New Mexico.
Mirabal-Martinez is a breast cancer survivor, and she lost her mother to the disease. Cherishing life, she adores family adventures and is also a bustling volunteer for cancer awareness and prevention organizations.
Recipient of one of the Lab’s Women Who Inspire awards, Mirabal-Martinez was nominated for her extraordinary courage, accomplishments and work ethic.
