Event Description
Teams of students from grades three through college will send their robots through mazes, up inclines and into jousting competitions.
The Science Showdown features hands-on science activities for kids, and booths from area partners such as Explora Science Center, Twirl, PEEC and others. HAZMAT robots from the Laboratory and the Los Alamos Police Department will be on display. Student teams have been building and programming their robots for months. The contest will help prepare them for the larger RoboRave Internationalevent in May (Albuquerque Convention Center). The programs provide hundreds of northern New Mexico students opportunities to develop STEM skills.
