Event Description

The Laboratory is co-sponsoring the ChallengeHER small business conference in Albuquerque.

The conference is designed to assist women-owned small businesses and other small businesses navigate the sometimes complex process of competing for federal government contracts.

The free conference includes workshops on topics such as “Research and Marketing,” the importance of “Sources Sought,” “How advocacy and executive orders affect Government contracts.” Businesses can register from the Women Impacting Public Policy registration website.

Acquisition Services Management (ASM) Division Leader Doug McCrary will provide information on the Laboratory's Small Business Program, the Lab's mission, as well as products and services the Laboratory purchases. McCrary also will be part of an afternoon panel discussion titled “Working with Buyers: Prime and Subcontracting Opportunities.”

There also will be presentations on the “DOE Business Model,” “What Women owned and Economically Disadvantaged Small Businesses can do to help create Set-Asides,” a panel discussion “Federal and M&O Contracting Opportunities, networking opportunities with federal, prime contractor(s) and small business related resources such as the Small Business Administration, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, Small Business Development Center and others.

Other sponsors include the federal Small Business Administration, Department of Energy, Women Impacting Public Policy and Sandia National Laboratories.
