Retirees 2010 Open Enrollment

Monday, October 26 – Friday, November 20

Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico is the new provider of the Laboratory’s medical benefits effective January 1, 2010. The Laboratory will no longer offer coverage through United Healthcare or Anthem Blue Cross.

If you wish to choose your medical coverage through the Laboratory’s benefits program for 2010, you MUST make an active selection of medical coverage during Open Enrollment. Your current medical elections will not carry through to 2010. If you take no action, you will be mapped to the "most similar" benefit plan to your 2009 coverage selection.

Note: your personalized statement from Your Benefit Resources (YBR) will not reflect the entire Open Enrollment window. October 26th – November 20th is the official period of open enrollment for Laboratory retirees.

How to Enroll or Make Changes

You may enroll in medical and change your current benefits through YBR between 8:00 a.m. (MST) on Monday, October 26, 2009 and 11:59 p.m. (MST) on Friday, November 20, 2009.

There are two ways to enroll:

Corrections and changes will be allowed via phone through the end of the year.

YBR also allows retirees to set up direct debit options for payment of medical, dental and vision premiums, as well as a Direct Deposit form for Part B Reimbursements through Melon Bank.
