2010 Open Enrollment for Active Employees

Open enrollment will take place November 2 to December 4 for active employees.

On January 1, 2010, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBS of NM) will become the Laboratory’s medical insurance carrier, replacing United Healthcare and Anthem Blue Cross. Most of us will enjoy two major benefits from this change: reduced premiums and access to a larger provider network nationwide.

Every LANS employee and retiree must make an active election for BCBS of NM during this fall's Open Enrollment for medical coverage to continue into 2010.

Oracle Self-Service instructions are now available online. You will be assigned a specific timeframe in which to enroll: your last name will determine your "window."

The Benefits Office will track completed enrollments and reach out to those employees who have not participated. We don’t want anyone to unintentionally lose coverage.

You may also view a replay of the information sessions that were held in the beginning of October via RealMedia and Labnet 10.

The FAQs answer some of the most common questions about the transition to the new plan and your responsibilities. They cover Medical Plan Changes, Eligibility Changes, Flexible Spending Changes, and the Open Enrollment Process. The FAQs will be continually updated as more information becomes available.

We encourage you to contact us with any feedback, questions, or concerns at oeinfo@lanl.gov.
