Marijuana is the most commonly used illegal drug in New Mexico. The main active ingredient is THC; the higher the concentration of THC, the more potent the pot.

Reasons for abuse -

• Relaxation
• Euphoria

But did you know that -

• It may cause impaired short-term memory, a shortened attention span, and delayed reflexes.
• Short-term effects include memory and learning problems, distorted perception, and difficulty thinking and solving problems.
• It may cause relaxed inhibitions and disoriented behavior.
• It may cause a fast heart rate and pulse.
• Repeated use of marijuana may cause breathing problems.
• Possession of marijuana is illegal.
• Smoking marijuana during pregnancy may cause birth defects.
