Community Giving

Giving back to the community means more than just making financial contributions.  For many Laboratory employees it also means giving back to causes they feel they can make the most impact.  Some of those include:

  • volunteering over 700,000 hours for local and national efforts since 2006
  • reading to visually impaired
  • partnering with local and regional non-profit organizations to deliver services and programs
  • volunteering in schools as tutors, mentors, readers, speakers, and lunch buddies

The community commitment for Community Giving embraces the opportunity to be actively involved in our employees’ communities and support a vibrant quality of life in the region.  LANL’s community giving initiatives align our regional communities’ goals with the interests of Laboratory employees.

The Community Programs Office raises the awareness of our communities needs and promotes employees involvement by coordinating employee giving campaigns, the LANL Volunteer program, and  need-based  drives and events.

Call to Action: Get involved. Connect yourself to what matters most to you, On a personal level, each of us is invited and encouraged to connect to what matters most to us by directing our donations, by volunteering, or by joining with others for the common good to make our communities a better place to live and work.
