TOPIC: Quantum Coding with Entanglement

Abstract
We review our recently developed techniques for constructing quantum convolutional codes that use entanglement shared between sender and receiver. This technique of exploiting entanglement has the benefit that we can import arbitrary classical codes with good performance for use in quantum coding. We review the techniques for encoding Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) quantum convolutional codes and also discuss new techniques for encoding quantum convolutional codes that have a more general, non-CSS structure. We also discuss a unifying structure for quantum convolutional codes that incorporates the benefits of operator, entanglement-assisted, and classical-quantum coding techniques in the stabilizer formalism. We finally present some new lines of inquiry for multiparty entanglement-assisted codes and non-additive entanglement-assisted quantum codes.
