Trident Call for Proposals
Call for Proposals 2015–2016
The Trident Laser Facility is accepting proposals for experiments to be performed at the facility during the period October 2015 through September 2016.
All proposals submitted are evaluated by the Trident Program Advisory committee, with feedback provided to the proposer.
Scheduling and evaluation
Proposal evaluation and scheduling will be accomplished according to the following schedule:
|Date of Proposed Experiment||Submission Deadline||Evaluation & Scheduling|
|October 2015–September 2016||June 15, 2015||July 31, 2015|
- Submit proposals using the proposal form (docx).
- Email completed forms to email@example.com, with subject “FY2016 Trident Proposal.”
Proposals are evaluated by the Trident Program Advisory Committee by their relevancy to NNSA vision, mission, and priorities; their scientific merit; and their technical feasibility.
A portion of the operating schedule is allocated to experiments of scientific interest unrelated to the weapons campaign priorities, typically non-DOE funded research. These experiments are expected to pay for the full cost of facility operation of $50,000 per week, although the Trident Governing Board retains the right to waive these fees for especially meritorious proposals.
After proposal evaluation, the Trident Governing Board allocates run time for selected experiments.
Scheduling is done by the Trident Operations Team. LANL contact: Randy Johnson
