Policy Committee

The Policy Committee of the Los Alamos Postdoc Association plays a central role in the interpretation of the LAPA bylaws. In September of 2006, after several meetings regarding the creation of they LAPA bylaws, the General Assembly voted to ratify the bylaws as written by the Policy Committee.

The continued role of the Committee is to maintain the bylaws by meeting once a year to ensure that the bylaws are up to date and relevant. If necessary, the Committee will meet regularly to discuss proposed amendments and may interpret the bylaws during the General Assembly meetings if a question pertaining to the LAPA bylaws arises.

More recently, the Policy Committee was delegated by the General Assembly through a bylaw amendment to meet twice per year in order to create a forum for postdocs at LANL to bring any issues or concerns related to postdoctoral life at LANL to the Los Alamos Postdoc Association.
